What is a Managed Network and what does it include?
A Managed Network is a fully managed corporate network. At BeSync, it is an umbrella term for several building blocks that can be booked individually or in combination: Managed Internet Access, Managed Firewall, Managed Switch and Managed Wireless Access Points. BeSync handles planning, monitoring and ongoing operation, so your network remains stable, secure and available at all times. You book exactly the components you need, either individually or as a fully coordinated overall system.
Which components are part of the Managed Network?
BeSync's Managed Network comprises four building blocks that can be booked individually or in combination:
Managed Internet Access: a professional, monitored fibre-optic connection (up to 10 Gbit/s, optional 4G failover) including a managed next-gen firewall – both in a single device.
Managed Firewall: the standalone next-gen firewall with IDS/IPS and VPN for customers who wish to keep their existing internet connection.
Managed Switch: Layer 2/3 switching with PoE and VLAN segmentation.
Managed Wireless Access Points: Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi 7, WPA3 and over 1 Gbit/s.
All components are centrally monitored, proactively maintained and operated in a coordinated manner.
What is the difference between Managed Internet Access and a normal internet connection?
A normal internet connection only establishes the outbound connection. You have to take care of the firewall, security and operation yourself. BeSync's Managed Internet Access combines the professional fibre-optic connection with a managed next-gen firewall in a single device. BeSync handles setup, ongoing monitoring and security updates, and guarantees defined response times in the event of incidents. An optional 4G failover keeps you online even if the line fails. This gives you not just bandwidth, but a fully managed and secured internet connection.
How is network security ensured in the Managed Network?
Security is an integral part of the Managed Network. BeSync operates next-gen firewalls with intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS), segments networks via VLAN and proactively monitors security-relevant events; relevant alerts are fed directly into BeSync's ticketing system. In addition, a real-time web filter protects against malware, phishing and malicious websites.
Can I also book individual components of the Managed Network separately?
Yes. The Managed Network is modular in structure. You can obtain individual building blocks, such as just the Managed Firewall or just the Managed Wireless Access Points, or combine several components into a fully managed, end-to-end network. This way, you only pay for what you actually need, and can expand the scope at any time.
What does a Managed Network cost?
The cost depends on your requirements and the size of the site. The Managed Network is billed at a fixed monthly price per component, with no hidden costs. Hardware, setup, monitoring and maintenance of the network devices are already included, so you no longer have to check individual invoices. We determine the exact price based on your sites and the components required in a short conversation.
What happens in the event of an internet outage?
With Managed Internet Access, an optional 4G failover ensures that your operations stay online even if the fibre-optic line fails – the connection automatically switches to the mobile network. BeSync continuously monitors the connection and takes action in the event of incidents, often before you notice anything. This minimises downtime and keeps you up and running.
Can I continue to use my existing network hardware?
No. The Managed Network is deliberately based on a uniform hardware platform selected by us. Only this way can we monitor the network centrally, secure it end-to-end and meet the guaranteed response times. Integrating third-party devices would undermine this reliability. The appropriate hardware is included in the Managed Network – including procurement, setup, maintenance and replacement within the monthly rate. This means you don't get a patchwork solution, but a system in which every part is fully coordinated.
Are there any additional costs with the Managed Network?
The ongoing services are fully included in the fixed monthly price – operation, monitoring, maintenance and support of the network components. The hardware itself, as well as replacement in the event of a defect, is also included at no additional cost to you. You no longer have to check ongoing individual invoices. Only clearly separable items are invoiced separately: the one-off setup at the start, as well as later expansions such as an additional site or a relocation. Construction work such as the installation of new network cabling by an electrician is also not included. We discuss all one-off or additional services in advance and invoice them transparently – so there are no surprises on the invoice.
