What is a Managed Server and what is included in the service?

A Managed Server means that BeSync takes over the complete operation of your servers, including proactive monitoring, automated patch management, EDR endpoint protection and regular backup to a Swiss data centre. Whether on-premise, cloud or hybrid: your servers run stably and securely, without you having to worry about technical operations. To secure your workplaces as well, we additionally recommend the Managed Workplace.

Which server environments does BeSync manage – cloud, on-premise or hybrid?

BeSync manages all common server environments: local servers (on-premise), cloud servers (Microsoft Azure or BeSync Private Cloud) and hybrid setups. With the Managed Cloud Server Individual, we also offer a tailor-made solution with freely selectable performance (CPU, RAM, storage, network), scalable according to growth and ideal for specific applications such as ERP or AI. Which solution is the best fit for your company is something we determine together in an IT assessment.

How does BeSync ensure high server availability and fast response times?

BeSync proactively monitors your servers and detects problems before they affect operations. In the event of an incident, clearly defined SLA response processes with guaranteed response times take effect. With Managed Server Business, backups are created daily and tested for recoverability on a monthly basis; with the Enterprise package, backups are performed hourly and the recovery test is carried out every two weeks. To secure your network as well, we additionally recommend the Managed Network.

What is the difference between Managed Server Business and Enterprise?

Both packages offer fully managed server operation with monitoring, patch management, EDR and backup to a Swiss data centre. The Business package backs up your data daily (1 TB included) and tests recovery on a monthly basis. The Enterprise package is designed for demanding environments: hourly backup (2 TB included), recovery test every two weeks, an additional 24/7 Security Operations Center and particularly short guaranteed response times. Which package is right for you depends on your requirements for resilience and data volume.

Where is my server data and backups stored?

Your backups are stored in a Swiss data centre. With the Managed Cloud Server Individual, data storage is aligned with your compliance requirements, with operation in the BeSync Private Cloud or on Microsoft Azure. This ensures your data stays exactly where it needs to be according to your requirements and Swiss data protection law.

What happens to my existing servers when switching to BeSync?

The switch begins with a workshop in which we capture your existing server environment and your requirements. We then determine the most sensible approach for your existing servers: either we take them over into professional operation, or we migrate the systems step by step into a secure cloud environment. The servers are then managed under a suitable Managed Server package – including monitoring, maintenance, security and backup, without interrupting your ongoing operations. During onboarding, you have a dedicated point of contact.
